Wearable Sculptural Ring
”Reentering” is the fourth sculpturing in the set of 4 works commissioned to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing.

It depicts the Columbia return module's re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere, landing safely with parachute deployed in the Pacific Ocean on July 24, 1969. The ring band depicts the surface of the ocean, where the spacecraft splashed down.



Comes with: sculpturing; hand-blown glass cloche dome; black engraved base with armature; travel pouch; and signed/numbered/dated/fingerprinted documentation.

About the Artist

 

Rebecca Rose creates exquisite wearable art in the form of detailed, whimsical, small sculptures cast in precious metals. Her bronze collection was included in the Andy Warhol Museum and she has received prominent art grants sponsored by the Andrew Mellon Foundation and the Ford Foundation. She was commissioned by Aldrin Art Space to create 4 new works to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing and she’ll be working on an exclusive new “Spacescape” Series for spring 2021.
